Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), which has found far reaching applications as an analytical tool, is based on a quantum mechanical characteristic of a nucleus, nuclear spin. Recently, NMR and nuclear spins have received considerable renewed interest for quantum information processing. Our research aims to develop quantum functional devices, such as quantum computers and quantum repeaters, by manipulating the small number of nuclear spins using novel NMR technique combined with electronics and optics.
The research is conducted at Solid-State Quantum Transport Group Department of Physics Tohoku University.
